A solid days racing today marred by two stoooopid mistakes by yours truly.
The day started at Monza for an LFM 25 minute sprint race. Joy of joys it was wet. We survived the first lap carnage and settled in for a great wee race and brought the Prancing Horse home in a respectable Split 1, 10th place. Good ELO and 160 Championship Points. Result.
Next up was my first Nords LFM 1 Hour Race of the day and the first third of the lap was the usual LFM shambles. I got through the mess but with 30 secs of damage. Thankfully the car was straight if slow. 10kph slower on the straights. I decided not to repair and it seemed to be a good call as I managed to nurse it home in 18th starting from 26th.
The second Nords race mistakes were all mine. After we used the force to navigate the first 1/3 of the track chaos, I dumped it taking too much speed into the second carousel. Sadly for me….and responsibly I held off rejoining until the COMPLETE FIELD passed me by. Rejoining tale end charlie in 50th. To put the cherry on I won myself a 30 sec stop and go for pit-lane speeding by just the smallest of fractions. Rookie mistake.
A great recovery drive was on the cards and I managed to bring it home in 30th, a jump of 20 places. As miffed as I was at the mistakes I’m very happy with my progress on Nords.
